# Snaply 0.1.29

2026-01-29•v0.1.29

## Quality of life improvements

### 1\. Improved Escape key behavior

Pressing **Esc** to stop a recording or close the Writing Assistant window no longer propagates the key press to other applications. It now cleanly closes the window without triggering unwanted actions elsewhere.

### 2\. "Writing Assistant" terminology

We've renamed "AI shortcuts" to **Writing Assistant** throughout the app to better reflect its purpose and provide more clarity.

### 3\. Smoother updates

Background updates now install automatically, keeping you on the latest version without interruptions.

### 4\. Smarter shortcut logic

We've improved the shortcut validation logic. You can no longer assign the same shortcut to both "Dictation" and the "Writing Assistant," preventing conflicts and confusion.

### 5\. Onboarding refinements

We've further polished the onboarding experience to help new users get up and running with Snaply even faster.
